I’m sitting in the ATL airport on my way to UTAH! The wonderful Cecilie is getting married! She’ll be Cecilie Lee by the end of the week! But I got to the airport at 10 this morning because Bishop Mackay had a flight today too and I decided not to have someone drive down 2 times to the airport! I have 2 lay overs and I get into UT tonight at 11 Utah time, which is 1am to my east coast time clock. Good thing I have a lot of updating to do!
Last month I got to go to Florida for a few days! I’m not a Gator fan yet, but I did find it interesting that the people down there have to take special precautions to keep the gators out of their pools (which everyone has because it’s hotter than Hades in the southern and eastern parts of the US these days…) All the houses look something like this:
I made a road trip with 2 girls from my ward and it was action packed! The first night we stayed in the room with the bride who we went down to see and woke up to her showering and her mom having a conversation with her while on the john about how exciting it was to get married. It was cute! The wedding was beautiful and she looked great:
One of the girls I went down with has a brother who won flex passes to Universal Studios and Island Adventure that he let us use! Florida should be renamed “State of Fun” because there are SO many theme parks! I can’t keep them straight. I loved going, but again, it was so humid! My hair was uncomfortably curly and I was so sticky that my clothes had to be peeled off before I could shower. We got to go on all the rides we wanted to even though we only had the half day after the wedding to enjoy 2 theme parks!
One more small note about the wedding I went to in FL. At the reception she had a computer photo booth, and she brought a bunch of props and cut out some mustaches for us to use too. It was such a cute idea! Here’s the shoot I got to be part of:
I love going new places and seeing new things! It is such an adventure living in Georgia, and I can’t believe I’m here soaking it up! I love Georgia, and I have found some wonderful people down here in the South. I think I’ll stay here for a while (if I can find a job of course)!
